AD HOC #6 – YAMAHA XJ
This yamaha XJ750 , was one of the first orders that came into the shop last summer. With a couple of important assumptions , a classic look and a very tight budget.
Is completely dismounted and started testing tanks with finally chosen was a 2002 GT Derbi 70s we found in the warehouse of a good friend . seat fiberglass, came from a Yamaha TZ and cut to widen and light Gonelli embedded .
The rear light is inserted into the fiber seat. Brand is Gonelli. With defined main parts, start with the search for other details, handlebars , marker , indicator lights, mirrors, foot pegs , headlight .
Hardware parts passed through sandblasting and powder coating for an excellent resistance .
For fiberglass parts we chose two shades of gray and brown to set with upholstered seat .
Supports plate, delayed footrests and headlight brackets have been manufactured and modified “ad hoc”
The electrical installation has been simplified and the whole installation and battery is hidden under the seat.
We were looking for comfort over aesthetics chose a Avon Speedmaster and also the Betor gas shocks .
Cardan behavior is excellent and even for a motorcycle driving is so heavy its really nice.
Pegs adapted a suzuki gsxr also adapted for drum brake and the corresponding mechanism for the rear brake light, bellows, bar end mirrors, indicator lights are inserted into the steering stem, only takes speedometer. the engine has also been repainted in two-tone color, the front fender is made ad hoc.
Also have replaced the brake levers and hembrague for a nissin brand. well as metal hoses,
The electrical installation and battery are hidden under the seat.
Has shortened the front susension and hardened suspension.
Are mounted and also conical filters, oil filter evaporator.
The rear shock absorbers are gas.
Front light comes from a Suzuki Bandit and brackets are Marzocchi brand.
