AD HOC #12 – ALPHA-OMEGA BMW K1
Just a year ago he entered the workshop the biggest challenge we’ve had to date. Convert a large volume touring bike in a cafe-racer sports. Strip away the original motorcycle fairing and screen, fenders, tank, seat, luggage, forks, wheels, footrests, speedometer, air filter box, ABS, shock ..etc.
Once we had the bare chassis we redid the subframe with 30mm tube section, changing the original pitch and ending in a curve with LED back light driver inserted. On which we have built the base of the seat upholstered in cowhide.
The backplate is trying to avert the elongated plate of the volume of the bike to not spoil the whole picture.
With this structure ended began with the construction of the base fuel tank, which is housed in the fuel pump and the gauge, the outside has been achieved by fitting a fuel tank Suzuki GS-1100.
We have replaced the original tires than three blades, for some of the older model BMW K-100 18 «tires AVON Roadrider.
Also the front fork and seatpost are BMW K RS-100 and Brembo brake calipers. the handlebars are multirregulables and we topped with mirrors at the ends.
On the front in addition to the fork we built the structure to hold the fairing with smoked screen and in which we have inserted a headlight rectangular to break with the traditional image of round light and continue the angular shapes of the rest of the bike. Watches and speedometer, the principal is a digital KOSO offers great information.
All electrical wiring has been redistributed and annulled the ABS system, the ignition clausor has moved to the side next to the ignition coils, the unit ECU has also been installed in the rear of the engine adequately protected in a box metal, as well as the battery in the middle.
Both footrests driver and the passenger have been made ad-hoc as forwarding gearshift goes through the top to not touch the exhaust has also been cut from its original size, thus gaining a sound hoarse.
The rear shock comes from a Yamaha R-6.
It has replaced the air filter box for a conical filters, which have modified the regulation of butterflies and CO, we have also modified the expansion tank cooling system. sump has also changed.
The blue and white colors are inspired by the range of BMW HP2.
